According to a survey have just been published by INSEE, the inequalities grow hollow on the job market. The light fall of unemployment recorded for one year has not benefitted the seniors sufficiently. The firms recruit few people having exceeded around fifty: in 2007, they accounted for only 7% of the new recruits whereas they constitute 17% of the job-seekers. Also, 38% of the unemployed of more than 50 years have sought an employment for more than two years. In answer to these problems, the Government encouraged the measurements aiming at supporting the hold in activity of the seniors. Today, it is a question in parallel of more facilitating the return to employment to them. In addition to the development of the operative paragraphs of accompaniment, the exemption of looking for a job, of which could hitherto profit the unemployed from at least 57 years and half, will be gradually abolished from here by 2012. The bill on the control of the unemployed will be discussed in front of the Senate and the National Assembly starting from June 23rd, 2008.
